The first title released in this series in a decade, and the first not handled in any capacity by the original developers at EA Redwood Shores/Visceral Games (developed instead by EA Motive), this revisit had both a lot to live up to - and a lot prove to both a new generation of players and skeptical old guard fans.

In our experience for review, it took us a little over 13 hours to beat the Dead Space remake on Medium difficulty, without any New Game Plus benefits.
Overall, the time it takes to beat Dead Space will depend largely on your difficulty and how many repeat runs you might need through an area. These may be fairly quick runs back through areas you’re already familiar with, but they’ll still eat up some time. Those 12 chapters of Dead Space will roughly run you anywhere from an hour to a little more to beat, but there are also some side quests to tackle too. Many chapters cut off a bit differently compared to the original, or have different ways of moving between them altogether. This is because the USG Ishimura, in Motive’s Dead Space remake, is much more open and has side-quests that may require some back-tracking. Motive’s take on Dead Space treats them more like narrative book-ends, while not always creating hard stopping points or cut-offs. Previously, chapters marked hard in’s and out’s for different areas.
While the number stays the same, the way the chapters flow has significantly changed.
